Today we are going to look at last minute holiday decorations. Toward the end of November, many people find themselves particularly busy with work or other commitments, or just can’t seem to get in the holiday spirit.

We don’t have a white Christmas here in the Phoenix area. We don’t own snowshoes or skis or even snow suits.

While the rest of the country slowly devours the last of the Halloween candy and tries to plan the Thanksgiving guest list, the electricians’ phones have started ringing. Our customers, looking ahead at to the Thanksgiving glut of power usage, are calling to have their repairs and upgrades done now so they can maintain their electrical integrity during the holidays.

In an old movie, starring Bill Murray, numerous scenes begin with an alarm clock going off, which makes the character open his eyes to start a new day. We will look more closely at that in just a moment.

Security lighting can be an excellent environmental crime deterrent. But, surprisingly enough, when a some schools turned off their security lights, vandalism went way down. This is important to the homeowner for two things; first, that vandalism most often occurs when vandals can actually see what they’re doing. Second, because when there is usually darkness, people notice if a light comes on, such as a motion-activated security light, and it alerts them that someone is there.

A circuit breaker box, electrical service panel, or load center are all terms which refer to the same thing: a metal box which distributes the power to different areas of your home. It contains the circuit breakers which protect the wiring in each of these areas from an overload situation.

When you consider the number of heating-type appliances we have in our homes, it’s surprising that there aren’t more accidents.

When summer comes, that means it’s time to turn on your ceiling fans. When winter comes, that means it’s time to…turn on your ceiling fans!
