Panel Questions Worth Asking Anyone You Hire
1.How do I find out which utility serves me?
Your bill names it, and it is worth checking before you get a quote rather than after. Different suppliers have different procedures and lead times for service interruptions, and that is the part of the job nobody can speed up.
2.How long will my power be off?
For the change-out itself, a working day is the usual shape rather than several. What is much harder to compress is the scheduling around it. Anybody who gives you a firm date before the utility position is settled is telling you something they do not yet know.
3.Is there an age at which a panel simply has to be replaced?
No. Panels are replaced because of what is found in them or because the service constrains what you want to do, and neither of those arrives on a schedule. Condition of the terminations, whether the enclosure is a type still supported, and the calculation. Those decide it.
4.Can you tell me the size I need over the phone?
Not honestly. The number comes out of the calculation, and the calculation needs the fixed appliances, the cooling equipment, and whatever you are planning to add. What we can do on the phone is tell you what the calculation will need from you.
